Coaching for Professionals in Education

‘Empowered’, ‘refreshed’,  ‘a revelation’, ‘transformed’, ‘confident’ and ‘in control’ are all words that professionals have used to describe the effect that coaching has had on them. Teachers and lecturers welcome the opportunity to have dedicated time to find solutions and support from an impartial and informed critical friend to do this. As a previous teacher myself I understand the highs and lows of teaching.

I work with teachers and lecturers to both give and get the best from their working lives. I work with them to become more confident, to take control of their workload and to develop techniques to handle challenging situations and people. They gain higher self-esteem, greater job-satisfaction and performance, and deeper feelings of wellbeing.

Teachers and lecturers play an active role throughout their coaching sessions which are flexible to support them to find realistic solutions. Solutions are often the result of a ‘lightbulb’ moment, and can involve making practical changes, finding fresh perspectives and modifying thoughts and responses to certain events.

I have an open and friendly style. asking questions to prompt, challenge and clarify thinking and introducing NLP techniques where appropriate. My coaching is grounded in the real-world, combining coaching skills with experience of life, business and education and the insights of many previous clients. I am fully qualified and insured, and a member of the National Council of Psychotherapists.

Please call me or email me if you are interested in coaching for yourself or members of your team. I also deliver practical and hands-on workshops.

” Life was stressful. Sue was calm and listened to me with empathy and kindness. She helped me to develop tactics for breaking down the difficult emotions that I was facing and develop ways of dealing with tricky situations. I was able to become more confident, feel more comfortable in tricky situations and find positive perspectives to enable me to be more productive and successful.”
