Coaching plays a key role in workplace wellbeing programmes. As a previous teacher myself, I understand the highs and lows of teaching and so provide impartial but informed support. I help teachers and lecturers to both give and get the best from their teaching lives. I help them to gain confidence, take control of their workload and develop techniques to positively handle challenging situations. These changes, in turn, lead to higher self-esteem, greater job-satisfaction and performance, and deeper feelings of wellbeing.
Workshops can also play a role in workplace wellbeing programmes. I deliver practical and hands-on workshops for teams to work together to take control of their professional lives.
Friendly, practical and successful
I help teachers and lecturers to make the right changes for them in the right ways for them. There is no one-size-fits-all approach. My coaching is grounded in the real-world and draws on my own experiences from education, industry and life and also the insights of previous clients. Coaching is all about moving forward, and is so effective that people start to make changes in their first session and most only usually need two or three sessions.
I have an open and friendly style. I ask questions to prompt thinking and act as an impartial sounding board and critical friend. I can also introduce NLP techniques to help teachers and lecturers change how they think about or react to particular events, replacing unhelpful thoughts and responses with helpful ones. Solutions are often the result of a ‘lightbulb’ moment, and may involve making practical changes, looking at things from a different perspective or modifying thoughts and responses to certain events.
Why teachers and lecturers come to coaching
Some teachers and lecturers have specific issues that they want to work on such as classroom dynamics, feeling more confident in meetings, finding a way to handle a tricky situation or developing their professional self-esteem. Others feel overwhelmed by their teaching life and want the opportunity to stand back and see things from a fresh perspective so that they can take back control.
Coaching for your employees
Sessions are relaxed and friendly so that teachers and lecturers feel at ease to talk openly and to freely explore possibilities. Teachers and lecturers play an active role throughout the sessions which are flexible to support them to find realistic solutions. Sessions can be scheduled regularly or booked as required.
